A man from Kanawha County, West Virginia, recently filed an asbestos lawsuit against 26 different companies.

The suit claims that the companies were negligent and caused the man to be exposed to asbestos during his employment.

Man Blames Former Employers for Illness

Gordon R. Conley filed a suit against 26 national and local companies claiming that they are responsible for the fact that he is currently living with mesothelioma.

The focus of Conley’s suit is on Union Carbide Corporation, where he worked form 1948 to 1985.

Conley was employed with the company as an electrician and chief operator at Union Carbide facilities.

During the time of his employment, he was reportedly exposed to asbestos while handling and being surrounded by products that contained the harmful substance.

Seeking Compensation

William K. Schwartz, Conley’s attorney, reports that his client and his wife are seeking punitive and compensatory damages in the suit.

The suit claims that the companies were negligent in assembling, supplying and distributing their products.
